Authorities foil attempted car theft targeting Israeli minister
Israeli authorities reported an attempted car theft involving Gila Gamliel, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, in central Tel Aviv.
According to police, an unauthorised individual entered the secure area of a residential complex and attempted to break into the minister’s personal car. Technical difficulties and the vehicle’s security systems prevented the first attempt, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
The suspect then moved to a neighbouring car belonging to the minister’s spouse, successfully starting the vehicle and driving it out of the underground car park.
A large police operation was launched, and the stolen car was later found abandoned on the side of a motorway in central Israel. Forensic teams collected evidence from both the vehicle and the car park to assist in identifying the suspect.
