Azerbaijan, Armenia move forward in border delimitation with video conference meeting
The drafts of instructions necessary for carrying out a series of delimitation work were discussed during a working video conference meeting, chaired by Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan on February 14.
The meeting was held within the State Commission on the State Border Delimitation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, as well as the Commission on the Matters of Delimitation of the State Border and Border Security between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on matters related to organising the next in-person meeting of the commissions. The sides agreed to determine the date and venue of the next meeting in a working manner.
Earlier, the 11th meeting of the State Commission on the Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and the Commission on the Matters of Delimitation of the State Border and Border Security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on January 16, at the border between the two countries.
The meeting was chaired by Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, and Mher Grigoryan, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia.
During the meeting, both parties continued discussions on the order of sections and segments of the border line, marking the next steps for the ongoing delimitation process.
The delegates agreed to commence the complex task of state border delimitation, beginning from the northern section, where the borders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia converge.
