Azerbaijan, Brazil to launch trade, investment talks with inaugural intergovernmental meeting
Azerbaijan and Brazil are preparing to hold the inaugural session of the Intergovernmental Working Group on Trade and Investment, with the meeting expected to take place later this year.
The development was announced by Brazilian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Manuel Montenegro, during his visit to the city of Shusha, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
“We hope to hold the first meeting of the working group already this year. The final decision will still be made, but we have a common aspiration to meet in 2025,” the ambassador stated, underscoring the mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral economic ties.
Ambassador Montenegro also highlighted the growing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the agricultural sector. “In September last year, we signed a memorandum of understanding. The document covers a wide range of areas—from economic cooperation and investment to scientific research in agriculture,” he added.
The forthcoming meeting is expected to pave the way for deeper collaboration in trade, investment, and innovation, reinforcing Brazil and Azerbaijan's shared interest in expanding economic and technological partnerships.
