Azerbaijan clears more than 1,690 hectares of mines, UXO

Azerbaijan’s National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has stated that it cleared more than 1,690 hectares of land of mines and unexploded ordnance in formerly occupied territories over the past week.
The agency said demining operations carried out between June 22 and 28 in the districts of Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, and several other regions, as well as the city of Khankendi, resulted in the detection and neutralisation of 36 anti-personnel mines, 37 anti-tank mines and 329 items of unexploded ordnance, Caliber.Az reports.
A total of 1,696.11 hectares of land were cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance during the reporting period.
