Azerbaijan clears over 1,500 hectares in one week of demining operations

Azerbaijan’s National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has detected and neutralisated hundreds of mines and unexploded ordnance during operations carried out across several liberated territories over the past week.

Demining activities were conducted between June 1 and June 7 in the Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khojavand, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, Gazakh, and Zangilan districts, as well as in the city of Khankandi, Caliber.Az reports via ANAMA.

During the period, 48 anti-personnel mines, 101 anti-tank mines, and 412 pieces of unexploded ordnance were detected and neutralised.

In total, 1,545.7 hectares of land were cleared of mines and explosive remnants of war.
