Azerbaijan clears thousands of hectares in latest demining drive ANAMA report
The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has released its latest weekly report detailing demining operations conducted across the country's territories liberated from occupation.
According to the agency, demining teams operating between June 29 and July 5 cleared 2,333.3 hectares of land contaminated by mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO), Caliber.Az reports.
The operations were carried out in the Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khojavand, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, Gazakh, and Zangilan districts, as well as the city of Khankendi.
During the reporting period, ANAMA specialists detected and neutralized 23 anti-personnel mines, 21 anti-tank mines, and 259 items of unexploded ordnance, continuing efforts to eliminate explosive hazards and improve safety in the affected areas.
The agency regularly conducts demining operations to facilitate reconstruction, support the safe return of displaced residents, and restore access to land and infrastructure in the liberated territories.
