On June 25, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held talks with Mojtaba Demirchilou, the newly appointed Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan, during which they addressed the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.

During the meeting, the ambassador formally presented copies of his credentials to Bayramov, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.

The foreign minister congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission. The officials discussed the current state of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, focusing particularly on regional security challenges.

Bayramov reiterated Azerbaijan’s position and concerns regarding the situation and expressed condolences for the recent tragic deaths of the Chief of the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, along with other officials and civilians. He stressed the importance of resolving such issues through dialogue and diplomacy, in line with international law and principles.

The ambassador expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for facilitating the safe land transit of citizens from various countries, including Iran, through Azerbaijani territory.
