Baku-Amsterdam talks open new doors for bilateral and economic cooperation
On October 15, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov met in the Netherlands with his Dutch counterpart, Deputy Foreign Minister Marcel de Vink.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan told Caliber.Az that during the meeting, both sides highlighted that recent high-level contacts between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands —particularly the meeting between President Ilham Aliyev and Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof at the 7th Summit of the European Political Community in Copenhagen — have created a positive foundation for developing bilateral relations.
The discussion underscored the importance of maintaining regular political dialogue, holding meetings of foreign ministers at international platforms, and conducting political consultations.
The parties also exchanged views on existing opportunities for expanding cooperation across various sectors, emphasising the significant role of economic collaboration and expressing satisfaction with the successful operations of Dutch companies in Azerbaijan.
Additionally, the conversation addressed issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda, international and regional topics of mutual interest, new realities of the post-conflict period, the peace process, and the outcomes of the historic meeting in Washington.
Elnur Mammadov briefed his counterpart on the measures Azerbaijan has undertaken to ensure sustainable development and stability in the region.
