Azerbaijan explores labour cooperation with Indonesia, Qatar at OIC conference PHOTO

Azerbaijan has explored prospects for closer cooperation with Indonesia and Qatar in the fields of labour and employment during the 6th OIC Labour Ministers’ Conference in Doha, aiming to strengthen workforce development.

The discussions, as noted by Caliber.Az, involved a delegation led by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, Anar Aliyev, who engaged with senior officials from both countries.

In Qatar, Aliyev met with the Indonesian Minister of Manpower, Professor Yassierli. The officials discussed the development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia and highlighted significant potential to expand collaboration in labour and employment. Both sides emphasised the importance of sharing expertise and information in the sector.

Aliyev also held talks with Qatari Minister of Labour Ali bin Said bin Samih Al Marri. The discussions noted that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar remain strong and continue to develop, thanks to the efforts of the two nations’ leaders. Cooperation within international organisations, including the OIC, was also highlighted as a key driver of progress.

At both meetings, reforms undertaken by Azerbaijan in the labour and employment sector were reviewed, with particular attention given to expanding active employment programmes.

The role of the OIC Labour Centre in Baku in strengthening ties between member states in the field of labour and employment was also recognised as crucial.
