Azerbaijani MPs to observe Kazakhstan’s parliamentary elections
A group of Azerbaijani lawmakers from the Milli Majlis (parliament) will travel to Kazakhstan on August 20 to observe elections to the country’s new unicameral parliament, the Kurultai, the Milli Majlis press service told Caliber.Az.
MP Sabina Salmanova will monitor the electoral process through the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, Nasib Magamaliyev through the CIS Executive Committee, and Gulshan Pashayeva will represent the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Gunay Afandiyeva will represent the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) in Astana, while Hikmat Mammadov will join the TURKPA mission in Almaty.
During the visit, the MPs will familiarise themselves with conditions and preparations at polling stations, observe the voting process and monitor voter turnout.
The visit will conclude on August 25.
