Azerbaijan launches meteorological monitoring in liberated territories
Meteorological and hydrological monitoring stations are being established in territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov announced during a meeting of the Working Group on Environmental Issues.
As part of a comprehensive hydrometeorological observation network, 11 automatic hydrological stations have been installed and put into operation across 10 rivers to monitor surface water resources, Karimov said, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“In addition, six automatic meteorological stations, four radioecological stations, and three agrometeorological stations have been established to assess weather and environmental conditions in the liberated areas,” he added.
Karimov also highlighted that geological assessments of key resource sites in these regions have been completed. “Geological evaluation has been completed for the sand and gravel deposits of Jahangirbayli and Khurama in Zangilan district, the construction material deposits of Mughanli in Gubadli district, the sand and gravel deposit of Khachinchay in Aghdam district, and the sand and gravel deposit of Muradkhanli in Gubadli district. These sites have now been put into operation for use in various construction and road infrastructure projects,” he added.
