Azerbaijan modernises another vessel in Caspian Sea VIDEO
Zulfi Hajiyev floating crane, belonging to the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Closed Joint-Stock Company (ASCO), has been modernised.
Head of the company’s press service Mehman Mehdiyev told Caliber.Az that the modernisation of the crane has affected mainly the engine of the vessel, which started to meet the latest requirements.
The works were carried out by local specialists at the "Bibi-Heybat" shipyard.
The “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping” Closed Joint-Stock Company was established by merging the country’s two largest fleets – the Azerbaijan State Caspian Sea Shipping Company and the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet of the State Oil Company.
The two companies were merged in order to continue fundamental structural reforms in the economy, increase domestic and international transportation in the maritime industry, enhance the competitiveness and transit potential of Azerbaijan and get synergies from centralized management of the state-owned shipping companies.
