Azerbaijan obtains over 100 million tons of oil from Chirag platform

Azerbaijan has extracted over 100 million tons of oil from the Chirag platform in the Caspian Sea over the past 25 years.

November 5 marks the 25th anniversary of the first oil production from "Chirag," the first platform on which production was started at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields.

About 766 million barrels (103 million tons) of oil have been produced from the Chirag platform since that period, which is about 1/5 of the total production from the ACG, APA reports citing UK’s BP company, which is the operator of the ACG project.
