Azerbaijan plans to create over 20 villages in Jabrayil, Gubadli, Zangilan till late 2026
Executive director of the Azerbaijani Reconstruction, Construction and Management Service #1 in the East Zangezur Economic Region Novras Jafarov has said that Azerbaijan plans to create three cities, five settlements and 24 villages in the Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts till 2026.
Jafarov made these remarks at the panel discussion “Contribution of Reconstruction, Construction and Management Services to the Great Return Process”, Report informs.
He said that construction is carried out as part of the implementation of the First State Programme of the “Great Return” to the territories liberated from occupation.
“Agali village of the Zangilan district has revived; 133 families [649 people] have been resettled there. Most of the employees working in local state agencies are villagers,” he said.
A panel discussion on “Contribution of Restoration, Construction and Management Services to the Great Return Process” was organised in Baku as part of the Caspian Construction Week.
The Azerbaijani State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced People held a draw among families that will be resettled in Agali village of the Zangilan district at the next stage.
The representatives of the special representative office of the President of Azerbaijan in the Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts, including the East Zangezur economic region, the executive power of the Zangilan district and the public council under the State Committee, attended the event, the State Committee told Report.
Some 33 families (177 people) took part in the draw. Proceeding from the composition of the families, 10 of them will be provided with three-room apartments, 15 - with four-room apartments and eight - with five-room apartments. Families are currently living in dormitories in Baku and Sumgayit, in the Absheron region.
Former internally displaced people, who will soon return to Agali for permanent residence, expressed deep gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the conditions created in the territories liberated from occupation and care for internally displaced people.
Families who took part in the draw will go to Agali on October 26 and 28.
