Azerbaijan police detain dozens in nationwide weapons, drug sweep VIDEO
Authorities in Azerbaijan have detained more than 20 individuals in a special operation targeting organised crime, including illegal possession of firearms, drug trafficking, and fraud.
The operation was carried out by officers from the Main Department for Combating Organised Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs across the capital and other regions of the country. Those targeted were involved in storing firearms and ammunition, cultivating narcotic-containing plants, trafficking drugs, and embezzling citizens’ funds through fraudulent schemes.
According to Caliber.Az, law enforcement seized Kalashnikov rifles, Makarov pistols, other firearms, and ammunition of various calibres during the operation. Authorities also confiscated 142 kilograms of drugs, which have been removed from circulation.
