Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society: Aghdam route can be said to be open
Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society Secretary General Jeyhun Mirzoyev has said that the Aghdam route can be said to be open.
He noted that the food cargo of the Russian Red Cross and its accompanying personnel having passed the roadblock of Russian peacekeepers are moving along the Aghdam-Khankendi road, APA reports.
"We have been waiting on the Aghdam-Khankendi road for 15 days already, and our relevant staff is also here. This is already a separate topic. Negotiations on this matter are ongoing. We can say that the Aghdam route is already open," Mirzoyev emphasised.
As Caliber.Az reported earlier, the cargo sent by the Russian Red Cross Society to meet the food needs of the Armenian residents living in the Garabagh economic region of Azerbaijan arrived in Khankendi from Aghdam on September 12.
A truck loaded with food and non-food products passed the post of Russian peacekeepers in the direction of Askeran-Khankendi.
The humanitarian cargo sent by the Russian Red Cross Society at the initiative of the Russian Government and under a joint cooperation memorandum of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, had been stuck in Azerbaijan's Barda district for 2 days to pass to Khankendi.
