Azerbaijan relocates another 20 families to Lachin, providing them with modern houses PHOTO

The return of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) to the rebuilt city of Lachin continues: on October 30, another group of residents, who arrived in Lachin, were provided with the keys to their houses.

On October 30, the city welcomed back 20 families - 70 Lachin residents - to their native lands, Azertac reports.

The keys to the houses were handed over to the families, who returned to Lachin after 31 years. The ceremony was attended by Natig Huseynov of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Migrants; employees of the special representative office of the Azerbaijani president for Lachin District, part of the Eastern Zangezur economic region, and Bakı Abadlıq Xidməti LLC.

The opportunity to settle in their hometown again, according to the Lachin residents, was a very joyful event for them.

To date, 315 families have been provided with permanent residence in the city - a total of 1,205 people. All conditions have been created for the resettlement of families of former internally displaced persons in the houses in which they once lived and which, after the liberation of Lachin from occupation, were restored or rebuilt in accordance with the presidential instructions.
