Azerbaijan reveals 3D plans for reconstruction of Aghdam's Eyvazkhanbayli village PHOTO

20 September 2024 11:51

Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev shared 3D visualisation of the new main plan for the reconstruction of the Eyvazkhanbayli village in Aghdam district of Azerbaijan, liberated from years of Armenian occupation as a result of the Patriotic War in autumn 2020.

The village will be characterised by original modern architecture, and the best conditions will be created for its residents, Caliber.Az reports.

The general plan of the village was prepared by the Baku State Design Institute of the State Committee.

According to the First State Programme of Great Return, 100 settlements will be restored in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan by 2026.

The main spatial planning works will be 80 per cent complete by the end of this year.

Following its liberation from occupation, Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district is undergoing significant construction and rehabilitation, reflecting a broader revitalization across other liberated areas

A notable aspect of the district's transformation is the development of the Aghdam Industrial Park, launched in August 2022. The park covers 190 hectares (470 acres) and will host a range of industries, including food production, light industry, and various services. It will also feature social and technical zones, facilities for building materials, and a vehicle park, creating a hub for economic activity in the region.

In December 2023, President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated several key infrastructure projects in Aghdam. These included the “Aghdam” junction substation and the foundation-laying for two major residential complexes, designed to provide housing for over 2,000 former internally displaced persons. The 5th residential complex will contain 1,115 apartments, while the 4th complex will comprise 1,080 units.

During his visit, President Aliyev also inspected several historical and infrastructure projects. He visited the reconstruction site of the 18th-century Imarat Royal Complex of the Karabakh Khans and initiated the construction of Central Park on a 5-hectare site.
