Azerbaijan, Russia inspect progress on strategic Aghband bridge project PHOTO
Senior officials from Azerbaijan and Russia have inspected progress on the construction of the Aghband road bridge, a key infrastructure project expected to strengthen transport links across the region.
Members of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on Economic Cooperation between the two countries were briefed on developments at the site, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The bridge is expected to play an important role in expanding regional connectivity and facilitating cross-border trade and logistics.
The visit took place during the 24th session of the Azerbaijan–Russia Intergovernmental Commission held in Zangilan, a city in Azerbaijan’s south-west.
The meeting focused on boosting bilateral trade turnover and widening cooperation across a range of sectors, including industrial collaboration, transport and logistics, energy, and agriculture.
The commission is co-chaired by Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.
