Azerbaijan's approach to enhancing CICA's role highly valued, official says

The Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) highly appreciates Azerbaijan's innovative approach to strengthening its role in the region, Deputy Secretary General Zhang Ling has said at the IV Shusha Global Media Forum.

She said Azerbaijan has demonstrated leadership in advancing transformation processes and strengthening ties among countries in the region during its chairmanship of the CICA, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

According to Zhang, Azerbaijan has carried out substantial work to improve the organisation's effectiveness and promote its sustainable development since assuming the CICA chairmanship in December 2024.

"We highly appreciate Azerbaijan's innovative approach to strengthening CICA's role in the region. The results of this extensive work over the past two years will be reviewed at the organisation's seventh summit, scheduled to take place in Baku on October 15," she noted.

The deputy secretary general expressed confidence that the upcoming summit would mark an important milestone and elevate cooperation among CICA member states to a qualitatively new level.
