Azerbaijan’s “Great Return” continues: 110 families resettle in Aghdam
The process of resettlement to Azerbaijan’s liberated territories continues under the “Great Return” programme.
According to Report, families of former internally displaced persons—who had previously been temporarily residing in various regions of the republic, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings—have now been resettled in the city of Aghdam.
At this stage, 110 families, totalling 397 people, have returned to Aghdam.
Residents who have come back to their native land expressed their gratitude to Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive care and support provided by the state.
They also thanked the valiant Azerbaijani Army, as well as the heroic soldiers and officers who liberated the country’s lands from occupation, and honoured the memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for the Motherland.

“I often found myself in Aghdam in my dreams and did not want to return from there,” former internally displaced person Zamina Kazimova, who is returning today to the city of Aghdam, said.
“When we left Aghdam, I was 45 years old; now I am 78. I am very happy: the longing for my native land has finally come to an end. Our life as displaced persons is ending; from now on, we will live in our native Aghdam, in our own home. On this day, I express my boundless gratitude to the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and our heroic army. May Allah rest the souls of all our martyrs,” she said.

“We lived for many years with a longing for our native land and always dreamed of returning to Aghdam. And today we are setting off on our journey—returning to fulfil the dreams that once remained unfinished there,” former internally displaced person Shamil Guseynov, who is returning today to the city of Aghdam, stressed.
“May Allah rest the souls of our martyrs, grant health to our veterans, and protect our soldiers and officers. Thanks be to God that, thanks to the leadership of the President and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the courage of our martyrs, and the resilience of our veterans, we are returning to our native land today. Long live the Azerbaijani people and our state!” he emphasised.
