Azerbaijan’s Great Return sees 65 more people rebuild lives in Khojavand UPDATED

Another group of former internally displaced persons has been resettled in the city of Khojavand on May 22.

Some 17 families (65 people) have been relocated at this stage, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

These families had previously been temporarily living in dormitories, sanatoriums, camps, unfinished buildings, and administrative premises in various regions of the republic.

Employees of the Mine Action Agency provided the newly arrived families with detailed information about the dangers associated with mines and unexploded ordnance.

The ceremony for handing over the keys to the families’ new homes was attended by staff from the Special Representation of the President of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, as well as other officials.

A new phase of Azerbaijan’s Great Return program has seen dozens of families resettled in the city of Khojavand, as former internally displaced persons begin moving back to their restored homes in liberated territories.

Some 65 people (17 families) are being resettled today in the city of Khojavand, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The families relocating to Khojavend had previously been temporarily residing in various regions of the country, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings.

Returning residents expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for comprehensive state care. They also expressed appreciation to the Azerbaijani Army, its brave soldiers and officers who liberated the lands from occupation, and wished peace for the souls of the martyrs who fell on this path.
