Great Return: New residents of Azerbaijan's Khojavand receive keys to their homes PHOTO
Khojavand has welcomed another group of resettlers as part of Azerbaijan’s ongoing Great Return initiative, with families being handed the keys to their new homes.
Some 33 families, totaling 142 people, have been resettled in the city at this stage. The residents have been accommodated in both apartment complexes and restored private houses, marking a significant step in the reconstruction of the region, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Following the handover, officials from the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) conducted a safety briefing for the new residents, providing guidance on mine awareness and precautions to ensure their security in the area.

Azerbaijan has taken another step in its post-conflict resettlement program, as a new group of former internally displaced persons returns to the recently restored city of Khojavand under the government’s ongoing Great Return initiative.
A new group of 142 resettlers, comprising 33 families, has been dispatched to the city of Khojavand, Caliber.Az reports via state media.
The families had previously been living in temporary accommodations across the country, including dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings.
Upon their return, residents expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive care and support provided by the state. They also voiced appreciation to the Azerbaijani Army, as well as to the soldiers and officers who played a key role in liberating the territories from occupation.
In addition, the returnees paid tribute to the memory of those who lost their lives in the process, honoring the fallen as martyrs.
