Azerbaijan's Lachin prepares for second stage of reconstruction, economic development
Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in Lachin district, Masim Mammadov, revealed ambitious plans for the region's development.
Mammadov told Caliber.Az that the second stage of reconstruction for Lachin city is scheduled to commence by the beginning of 2025, focusing on the construction of a modern residential complex to accommodate 400 families.
"As we look ahead to the next six months, our immediate plans include launching the second stage of Lachin town reconstruction, which aims to enhance residential infrastructure significantly," Mammadov stated, underscoring the proactive steps toward revitalizing the region.
Mammadov further outlined key economic initiatives set to bolster Lachin's industrial base this year. "We anticipate the operational start of a textile factory, a knitwear enterprise, and an essential oils factory within Lachin, signaling a new phase of economic activity," he noted.
Highlighting ongoing infrastructure projects, Mammadov mentioned the imminent completion of Baylik village construction, slated to accommodate 91 families, and the first stage of Gulabird village construction.
Additionally, he emphasized the final stages of the Zabukh-chay reservoir project, designed to irrigate 12 thousand hectares of agricultural land upon its completion this year.
"In parallel, plans are underway for the reconstruction of Minkand village, the largest village in the region, which is currently in the design phase," Mammadov added, emphasizing the comprehensive approach to regional development.
