Azerbaijan’s Shusha city to host international chess tournament

On September 21-24 Shusha will host an international chess tournament organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.

These remarks came from the President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Vice-President of the International Chess Federation Mahir Mammadov, Report informs.

“Work has begun on organizing an international tournament dedicated to the 190th anniversary of a prominent poetess and philanthropist Khurshidbanu Natavan, the daughter of the last ruler of Karabakh Mehtigulu Khan Javanshir.

Along with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Department of the State Reserve of Shusha takes an active part in the organizational work. All members of the Azerbaijani national team will be invited to the tournament,” M. Mammadov said.
