Azerbaijan’s tax revenues up by over 52% - minister
The amount of tax revenues to the state budget increased by 52.4 per cent between January and April this year, reaching 7.67 billion manats [$4.5 billion] through the State Tax Service under the Economy Ministry.
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov made the statement on Twitter on May 11, Caliber.Az reports.
He said that 4.3 billion manats [$2.5 billion] in the structure of tax revenues in the specified period were formed at the expense of the non-oil and gas sector. This is 16.7 per cent more than a year ago.
"A significant role in the growth of tax revenues is played by the reduction of the scale of the ‘shadow economy’, the steps taken towards the legalisation of business and income," the minister wrote.
