Azerbaijan shares spectacular footage of Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha road VIDEO

29 April 2023 13:52

Construction of the new Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha high-speed road is in full swing. It is one of the road infrastructure projects in Karabakh that will play an important role in the socio-economic development of areas liberated from years of Armenian occupation during the Patriotic War in the autumn of 2020.

Azerbaijan's State Agency for Roads shared spectacular video footage of the new road, accompanied by a musical composition performed by Alim Gasimov and Etibar Asadli.

It should be noted that the highway was laid on January 14, 2021, during the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Fuzuli district.

The high-speed road under construction, with a total length of 81.6 km, is in most cases six-lane, with three lanes on each side (total width - from 37.7 to 29.5 m), and only in the highland section, it will be four-lane (total width - 21.5 m).

Seven tunnels (total length - 6358 metres), nine viaducts (total length - 1980 metres) and 30 subways (total length - 1110 metres) are being built along the road. The construction is carried out jointly by Special Purpose Road Operation Company #16 of the State Road Agency of the Azerbaijan Republic and Azvirt LLC as a subcontractor.

Construction works are carried out under the direct supervision of the management of the State Roads Agency of Azerbaijan. The Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha road begins from M6 highway Hajigabul-Goradiz-Agbend-Zangazur corridor and runs through the territories of Fuzuli, Khojavand, Khojaly, and Shusha regions of Azerbaijan liberated from the occupation.

In total, there will be 30 underground passages, 7 bridges, 7 tunnels, and 9 viaducts on the road.

The construction of the road is planned to be completed in 2024.
