Azerbaijan thwarts drug smuggling from Iran

The State Border Service of Azerbaijan has prevented the smuggling of narcotic substances from Iran to Azerbaijan in the service area of the Geytepe border guard detachment of the State Border Service's troops within the framework of measures taken to ensure reliable protection of the state border and fight illicit drug trafficking.

On  July 7, at 22:40 near Arus village of Yardimli region, 4 kg 372 g of marijuana, 78 g of heroin, and 1920 Pregobalin-150 tablets were found and seized in the service area of Geytepe border post, Caliber.Az reports.

Investigations are still ongoing.
