Azerbaijan to settle over 8,000 people in new residential areas of Aghdam
Deputy Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in the liberated territories of the Karabakh Economic Region (except Shusha district) Bashir Hajiyev has said that more than 8,000 people are planned to be settled in the fourth and fifth residential areas of Aghdam.
“The fourth residential area will reach 13.96 hectares; it is planned to relocate 4,450 people here. In total, it is planned to construct residential buildings with 1,080 apartments, consisting of 1, 2, 3 and 4 rooms. The fifth residential area will reach 12.12 hectares; residential buildings with 1,115 apartments will be built in it. It is planned to resettle 3,803 people here,” Hajiyev said, Report informs.
“Moreover, the football fields, surface parking, gazebos, and children's playgrounds are planned to be built in the complex. Residential complexes will be provided with water, electricity and high-speed internet. Heating and hot water supply are planned to be provided through a central boiler system. The corresponding work in residential complexes will be carried out in stages,” he added.
Hajiyev underlined that steps are being taken to improve the living conditions of former IDPs who will be resettled in the restored city of Aghdam.
According to him, a central park of 5 hectares will be built in Aghdam along with new residential complexes. The total territory of Central Park will be divided into four zones - city square, Botanical Garden, glades and forest areas.
The total area of the Aghdam City Central Park, the foundation of which was laid by President Ilham Aliyev on December 24, will be 5.5 hectares, Hajiyev added.
“Green spaces will occupy 70 per cent of the park’s territory, sidewalks and squares - 25 per cent, buildings - 5 per cent. The total area of the central park will be divided into four zones. The park provides for the construction of an administrative building, mobile kiosks, a restaurant, a children’s entertainment centre, and the famous Aghdam tea house,” he noted.
