Azerbaijan to take steps to deal with Armenian vandalism at Khudavang Monastery
Necessary steps will be taken in connection with the consequences of vandalism committed by Armenians in Khudavang Monastery.
The remarks were made by Sabina Hajiyeva, Head of the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, APA reports.
"Of course, all monuments in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur are part of our cultural and historical heritage. Protection of these monuments, other necessary procedures will be carried out," the head of the service noted.
Meanwhile, commenting on historical monuments in Karabakh, Hajiyeva noted that since 2020, as well as after the anti-terrorist activities carried out in 2023, employees of the State Service have monitored historical and cultural monuments in Karabakh.
She noted that out of 705 listed monuments 163 have not been monitored: "This is due to the territories where they are located. Because it is impossible to conduct monitoring there both in terms of relief and other security issues".
According to Hajiyeva, monitoring was also conducted at the Amaras Monastery after the anti-terrorist activities in September 2023.
