Azerbaijan uncovers remains of nearly 500 people in liberated lands Statement by the Azerbaijani State Security Service

The remains of about 500 military personnel and civilians have still been discovered in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

Deputy Chief of the Azerbaijani State Security Service (SSS) Lt-Gen Sharafat Hasanov told a farewell ceremony for National Hero Riad Ahmadov, Trend reports.

Sharafat Hasanov noted that in the First Karabakh War, Azerbaijan’s losses amounted to about 4,000 people. He also emphasized that the search for those missing during the First Karabakh War is currently ongoing.

“At the genetic laboratory, created as part of the Main Military Medical Directorate of the State Security Service, we identified 25 of our martyrs. The process is still ongoing,” the deputy chief of the State Security Service elaborated.
