The design for a new mosque in the restored city of Jabrayil has been revealed following the foundation-laying ceremony on October 28, led by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Caliber.Az, the two-storey mosque will span over 1,530 square metres and accommodate up to 615 worshippers simultaneously. The building will feature separate prayer areas for men and women.
The mosque’s minarets are set to reach 34.2 metres, while the domes will rise to 22.6 metres. The project was developed by the Design Institute of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan.
Officials say the mosque will serve as a central place of worship for the local community and a symbol of the city’s ongoing reconstruction efforts.
