Azerbaijan, US discuss energy, trade, AI cooperation
Azerbaijan and the United States have held talks on expanding cooperation in energy, trade and emerging technologies, as part of their ongoing strategic partnership.
On April 15, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov met with Rebecca Neff, Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Economic, Energy and Business Affairs, along with representatives from the United States Trade and Development Agency, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Foreign Ministry.
The discussions focused on the implementation of the Strategic Partnership Charter between the two countries, with particular attention to cooperation in energy and trade, regional connectivity, and economic investment.
Both sides also exchanged views on prospective projects in transport, digitalisation and artificial intelligence, as well as ongoing work in these sectors and the role of private sector participation.
During the meeting, officials highlighted Azerbaijan’s role in regional energy security and emphasized efforts to diversify trade routes along the Middle Corridor. They also pointed to the country’s business climate and investment environment, noting opportunities to expand economic ties and establish new partnerships.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on other bilateral issues of mutual interest, underscoring continued engagement between Baku and Washington.
