Azerbaijani activists continue protest in Karabakh for fourth day PHOTO

The protest of Azerbaijani eco-activists against the illegal exploitation of natural resources has been underway on the Shusha-Khankandi road section for the fourth day.

The action that began on December 12 lasted all night, a Report correspondent informs from the scene.

The protesters chanted slogans against the illegal exploitation of deposits, and provocative and predatory activities of [the so-called separatist state minister] Ruben Vardanyan, and demands were made to withdraw the remnants of illegal Armenian armed formations from Azerbaijani lands.

At the same time, activists every time express their readiness to provide passage along the Shusha-Khankandi road for peaceful Armenian residents, ambulances.

It should be noted that the protest of Azerbaijani activists and members of environmental non-governmental organisations (NGOs) continues in the vicinity of Shusha city at the post of Russian peacekeepers demanding an end to environmental terror in the Karabakh economic region.

As a result of negotiations held on December 3 and 7, 2022, with the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, a delegation consisting of specialists from the economy, ecology and natural resources ministries, the State Service for Property Issues under the Economy Ministry and the AzerGold closed-type joint stock company had to conduct preliminary monitoring of the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits on the territory of Azerbaijan, where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, as well as related environmental and other problems. However, due to the inaction of the peacekeepers, monitoring did not take place.
