Azerbaijani activists keep demanding end to eco-terror in Karabakh on Khankendi-Lachin road
The rally on the Khankendi-Lachin road against the illegal exploitation of minerals in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh economic region has been ongoing for 105 days.
The Azerbaijani eco-activists, as during the first days of the rally, are highly active in their demand to halt environmental terrorism in Karabakh, Report informs.
The rally, which began on December 12, 2022, continued through March 26.
Security rules are observed during the action and no incidents were reported during the night.
Eco-activists traditionally started the day by performing the National Anthem of Azerbaijan, as well as patriotic songs.
Volunteers and activists, taking part in the rallies, are chanting the following slogans: “Azerbaijan is the owner of its mineral resources!”, “Stop environmental crimes!”, “Stop ecoterrorism!”, “Protect nature!”, “No Ecocide! “Yes to monitoring!” and do not hamper the movement of vehicles in both directions.
The security of the rally participants at a high level is ensured by the servicemen of the Internal Troops of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry and the police attracted to the territory.
A delegation consisting of specialists from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Service on Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy, and AzerGold company was supposed to preliminary monitor the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the Azerbaijani territory, in which peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, as well as review the related environmental and other problems as a result of negotiations with the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent held on December 3 and 7, 2022.
However, the monitoring was not carried out due to the inaction of the peacekeepers.
