Azerbaijani border guards seize big batch of drugs PHOTO
The smuggling of drugs to Azerbaijan was prevented in the southern direction of the Caspian Sea on March 19 thanks to the coast guard of the Azerbaijani State Border Service and the staff of the technical observation points.
A border vessel was sent in the indicated direction. The border units were also informed and took prompt measures to cordon off the coastline, the Azerbaijani State Border Guard Service told Caliber.Az.
A resident from Baligchilar settlement of the Lankaran district Jafar Aghayev, 35, was detained in the southern direction of the Caspian Sea on the territory of the Gizilagaj State Natural Reserve. He was trying to approach the shore by a boat with a Yamaha-25 engine (registration number “BA”-580").
During the search operation, 29 kilogrammes 715 grammes of marijuana, a Baikal hunting rifle, 24 cartridges, a Garmin GPS device, Samsung Galaxy A5 and KGTEL mobile phones were found and seized.
The investigation is underway.
