Azerbaijani FM: Armenia rejects previously reached agreements
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has said that Armenia is rejecting the previously reached agreements.
The minister made the remarks at a press conference dedicated to the results of 2022, Report informs.
“This is a bad trend. Such steps have a negative impact on the negotiation process,” he added.
Bayramov stated that there is nothing unacceptable for Armenia in the five basic principles proposed by Azerbaijan for the normalisation of relations because they are based on the principles of justice.
Furthermore, he underlined that the 3+3 regional platform format is very useful.
The minister reminded that the initiative to create a 3 + 3 regional platform was put forward by Azerbaijan, and a joint meeting in this format was held last year.
“We are also interested in holding meetings in this format, which is very useful,” Bayramov said.
The minister stated that Azerbaijan's top priority are peace and sustainable development, adding that these core goals would not change in 2023.
“The priority is to develop cooperation with important partners. Azerbaijan will also continue to be active within the multilateral platforms,” Bayramov said.
“Sustainability and peace are top priorities for us. We hope that the opposite side will also focus on peace. I would like to see the development in transportation routes and the signing of a peace agreement,” he said.
