Azerbaijani official: Work underway to open Zangazur corridor

Chairman of the board of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads Saleh Mammadov has said that the Russia-Azerbaijan-Armenia trilateral working group continues working to open the Zangazur corridor through Azerbaijan.

“The construction of a new alternative highway stretching 32 kilometres (without entering Lachin city) was completed in August 2022,” he said, according to Azertag.

He noted that moreover, the Azerbaijani side built and put into operation a new 5.4 kilometre-highway in the Armenian territory crossing the newly built bridge over the Khakari River on the border.

Mammadov also said that the road which is being built in Shusha will be the toll road.
