On May 27, President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, laid the foundation for the Lachin cable car line.
Rashad Nabiyev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport, briefed the head of state on the planned works, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Given Lachin’s stunning natural landscapes and strong tourism potential, special attention is being devoted to developing the region’s tourism infrastructure. One of the key initiatives in this regard is the newly planned Lachin cable car, which will be located in the city’s scenic Boulevard area and will feature two sections.
The cable car line will rise to a height of 300 metres and span a total length of 1,720 metres, with a travel time of just 6 minutes. The system will include 17 cabins and will be capable of transporting up to 800 passengers per hour. The Boulevard area, where the cable car will be situated, extends nearly 2 kilometres and is already a popular destination for both residents and visitors.
Since Lachin was liberated from occupation, numerous important social infrastructure projects have been implemented in a short time. Particular emphasis is being placed on tourism infrastructure development in Lachin.
