Azerbaijani travel agents explore Khankendi, Shusha PHOTO
A familiarisation trip to Khankendi and Shusha was organised on December 6–7 for representatives of 40 Azerbaijani tourism companies.
The visit was initiated by the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau, Khankendi Hotel Complex, the Association of Tourism Agencies of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Railways, and the Shusha State Reserve to showcase the tourism potential and existing infrastructure of the liberated territories, Caliber.Az reports via the State Tourism Agency.
Participants travelled to the Karabakh region on the newly opened Baku–Aghdam–Baku passenger train route.
During the trip, tourism industry representatives received detailed briefings on hotel complexes in Khankendi and Shusha, as well as the natural and cultural heritage of the cities.
Simultaneously, from December 6 to 8, the Karabakh Regional Tourism Department of the State Tourism Agency conducted an extended information tour for tourism companies and bloggers covering Shusha, Khankendi, Lachin, and Zangilan.
Participants explored the developing tourism infrastructure in the region and ongoing restoration projects.
