Azerbaijani, Turkish navies conduct advanced underwater warfare drills PHOTO
The “SAT-SAS-2024” joint exercise brought together the underwater offence and defence units of the Azerbaijani and Turkish Naval Forces for a series of coordinated tasks.
As outlined in the exercise plan, naval special forces from both nations successfully completed operations involving the neutralization of improvised explosive devices while maintaining strict safety protocols, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
Additionally, the units covertly advanced towards a simulated enemy target vessel and executed the underwater placement of specialized naval mines.
The primary aim of the exercise is to strengthen theoretical knowledge, refine practical skills, and facilitate the mutual exchange of expertise among the participating servicemen.
Note that, “SAT-SAS-2024” joint exercise held at the Aksaz Naval Base in Marmaris, Türkiye, with the participation of the underwater offence and underwater defence units of the Naval Forces of Azerbaijan and Türkiye continues.
According to the plan, the marine special forces units practically fulfilled the tasks of organizing circular protection and defence while rappelling from a helicopter into the simulated enemy's rear.
Servicemen demonstrated high professionalism during the fulfilment of the assigned tasks.
