Azerbaijani vessel sets out on its first voyage after overhaul PHOTO
The overhaul of the dry cargo ship "Maestro Niyazi" belonging to the Transport Fleet of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Closed Joint-Stock Company (ASCO) has been completed, ASCO Press Service Head Mehman Mehdiyev said.
He told Caliber.Az that the repair works successfully carried out at Zykh Shipyard were completed on time.
According to the work plan, various mechanisms, main and auxiliary engines, pumps, compressors and refrigerators were repaired, welding and electrical works were carried out on the vessel, and new compressors were installed.
The underwater and surface parts, engine room and deck were blast sanded and painted.
Superstructures and cargo rooms were cleaned and painted, crew cabins and service rooms were repaired and new furniture was installed. The dry cargo ship is equipped with the most modern navigation, radiolocation and communication systems.
After completion of the repairs, the vessel successfully passed the relevant inspections and was again returned to cargo transportation.
It should be noted that the dry cargo ship "Maestro Niyazi" has a cargo capacity of 5500 tonnes. The length of the vessel is 140.33 metres, width - 16.5 metres.
