Azerbaijan Airlines Air Navigation (AZANS) has signed a strategic agreement with NATS, the leading provider of air traffic management services in the United Kingdom.

This partnership aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis and improve operational procedures, maintenance processes, and regulatory compliance, marking an important step toward strengthening Azerbaijan’s position in the global aviation industry, the press release from Heydar Aliyev International Airport told Caliber.Az.

The collaboration between AZANS and NATS focuses on implementing strategic initiatives, including:

  • Optimizing communication, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) procedures and systems to enhance flight safety and reduce delays.

  • Strengthening compliance with international standards to ensure stability and reliability of operations.

  • Introducing advanced technologies and global practices aimed at sustainable development and the improvement of operational processes.

  • Training and developing the workforce, including specialized training, field visits, and joint seminars with NATS experts.

"Thanks to its strategic location, Azerbaijan and Heydar Aliyev International Airport have a unique opportunity to become a key air transport hub. The partnership with NATS will allow us to meet the highest standards of modern aviation, with a special focus on safety, environmental sustainability, and operational efficiency," said Farhan Guliyev, Director of AZANS.

Martin Rolfe, CEO of NATS, added: "Azerbaijan is showcasing rapid growth in the aviation sector, and this agreement is an opportunity to share our experience in managing some of the busiest airports and airspaces in the world. I look forward to working together, exchanging knowledge, and helping Azerbaijan achieve its ambitions."

This partnership will serve as the foundation for further growth in Azerbaijan’s aviation industry, strengthening its position as a regional leader and creating a reliable and efficient infrastructure for airlines.

Collaboration with NATS will enable the implementation of advanced technologies, providing passengers and airlines with an improved experience, including reduced delays, enhanced flight safety, and support for sustainable development.
