Azerpost brings online shopping to Karabakh with new delivery service
Azerpost LLC’s subsidiary, Postcargo, has commenced the delivery of international postal parcels to the Karabakh economic region.
The company is currently providing services to the cities of Khankendi and Fuzuli and plans to extend its delivery network to additional cities and settlements in Karabakh and East Zangezur in the near future, the company told Caliber.Az.
“Residents of Karabakh can now order products from online platforms in Türkiye, the USA, and Germany via our website. To ensure proper delivery, the postal index AZ2600 should be used for Khankendi, and AZ1900 for Fuzuli when selecting delivery points,” the company announced.
Following the liberation of Karabakh and East Zangazur from Armenian occupation in the 2020 war, the Azerbaijani government launched extensive infrastructure development projects in the region. Since then, several initiatives have been completed, and many more are underway.
The State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads (AAYDA) has rolled out 13 major projects, constructing 725 kilometres of new roads and restoring existing routes in the liberated territories. Notably, in November 2021, President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the "Victory Road," a 101-kilometer route connecting Fuzuli to Shusha. That same year, the renovated 28.5-kilometer highway to Sugovushan settlement and Talysh village in Tartar was also opened.
In addition to road infrastructure, two new airports have been completed in the region. Fuzuli International Airport, also known as the "air gate to Karabakh," opened in October 2021, marking the first international airport in the liberated lands. The airport, built in collaboration with Azerbaijani and Turkish companies in just eight months, has since handled both domestic and international flights. It is recognized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The second airport, Zangilan International Airport, located in the East Zangezur region, was inaugurated in October 2022. A third airport, in the Lachin district, is nearing completion and is set to further enhance civil aviation infrastructure in the region.
The Azerbaijani authorities have also launched the “Great Return” program, which facilitates the resettlement of displaced people back to their homes in the liberated areas.
