Baku says Armenia systematically violates human rights on Khankendi-Lachin road
Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has stated that the Armenian government had committed systematic human rights violations on the Khankendi-Lachin road.
Newly discovered evidence shows that the Armenian armed forces continue to plant landmines in the areas they are supposed to leave under the tripartite statement of November 10, 2020, as well as booby traps in civilian houses, Report informs, citing the ministry’s statement.
The ministry added that the landmines are of Armenian production in 2021 and were brought to Azerbaijan through the Lachin road in gross violation of the trilateral statement.
The destruction of houses, as well as the deliberate and targeted placement of explosive devices on civilian properties under the "burnt earth" policy of Armenia, prevents IDP families and communities to return to their homelands, which they were forced to leave following the illegal occupation by Armenia 30 years ago, according to the ministry.
