Foreign attachés explore Azerbaijan’s premier aviation education hub PHOTO
As part of its 2025 action plan, Azerbaijan’s National Aviation Academy hosted a delegation of foreign military attachés accredited to the country, providing them with an in-depth overview of the institution’s operations and contributions to civil aviation.
Seventeen delegates from the military attaché offices of 14 countries attended the event. The delegation was initially provided with a comprehensive briefing on the Academy’s history, developmental milestones, organizational structure, and principal activities, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry.
Established in the late 20th century, the National Aviation Academy has played a pivotal role in training highly qualified personnel for Azerbaijan’s civil aviation sector. Today, the Academy enrolls over 3,000 students across bachelor’s and master’s programs.
During the visit, the attachés learned that experienced professional pilots, air traffic controllers, engineers, and specialized experts are actively involved in the Academy’s teaching and training programs. The delegation was also briefed on the Academy’s scientific research initiatives and the creative projects undertaken by both its engineers and students.
The military attachés had the opportunity to observe the Academy’s advanced flight simulators at the Training Centre, which fully replicate real-world flight conditions. They toured the Science-Production Association, Aviation History Museum, library, laboratories, sports complex, and classrooms, gaining firsthand insight into the educational process and student engagement.
Questions from the attachés were answered throughout the visit, and the delegation concluded the tour with a commemorative group photograph.
