Azerbaijan, Italy hold expert meeting on mountain rescue operations

In line with the 2025 bilateral cooperation plan between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the General Staff of the Italian Republic, an expert meeting was held on the topic “Search and Rescue of Persons Stranded in Mountainous Terrain,” the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan reported to Caliber.Az.

The meeting took place at the search and rescue base of the 15th Wing in the Italian city of Cervia. It was attended by the base’s leadership as well as servicemen of the Azerbaijani Air Force specialising in parachute training and search and rescue operations.

During the session, military experts from both countries exchanged experiences and discussed issues of mutual interest, strengthening cooperation in search and rescue techniques in challenging mountainous environments.
