Kenyan president: Baku, Nairobi aim to explore new areas of partnership
Azerbaijan and Kenya have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding trade and investment.
Kenyan President William Ruto wrote on X after meeting Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence Industry Vugar Mustafayev that their discussions focused on strengthening longstanding bilateral ties, expanding cooperation in mutually important areas and exploring new spheres of partnership that could deliver tangible opportunities for both nations, Caliber.Az reports.

“We reaffirmed our commitment to advancing trade and investment as a key driver of shared prosperity,” he said.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Kenya were established on May 28, 2004.
On November 18, 2022, Azerbaijan’s President signed a decree to establish its embassy in Nairobi, signalling a deeper diplomatic commitment.
In June 2025, Azerbaijan officially opened its embassy in Kenya, marking a key milestone in their bilateral relations.
