Azerbaijan congratulates Lithuania on 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has congratulated Lithuania on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“Today marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Lithuania. We extend our warmest wishes to the Government and People of Lithuania on this occasion,” Caliber.Az quotes the ministry as saying in a post on X.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on November 20, 1995. Azerbaijan recognised the independence of Lithuania on December 6, 1991. Lithuania recognised the independence of Azerbaijan on December 20, 1991.
Over the past three decades, Azerbaijan–Lithuania relations have developed into a solid partnership based on mutual support for sovereignty and territorial integrity, energy cooperation (including Azerbaijani oil supplies to the Klaipėda terminal), and active political dialogue within the EU–Eastern Partnership framework. Lithuania consistently supports Azerbaijan’s internationally recognised borders, while Azerbaijan backs Lithuania’s security within NATO and the EU.
