Baku hosts D-8 media forum on regional cooperation, dialogue

Baku has opened its doors to the D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation Media Forum, convening under the theme “Promoting Dialogue, Cooperation and Regional Solidarity.”

The event brings together heads of media institutions, leading media organisations from the D-8 member states, senior officials, and experts in the field, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

Hikmet Hajiyev, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of Azerbaijan’s Presidential Administration, read out President Ilham Aliyev’s address to the participants.

The Forum features two panel sessions addressing “Responsible Journalism and Digital Innovation” and “Strategic Communication and Crisis Management.” In addition, a workshop on “Media Ethics in a Digitalising World: Technologies, Trends and Narratives” is also being held.

Almost 150 delegates are attending, including 71 representatives from the eight D-8 member countries and the D-8 Secretariat. The Forum aims to strengthen cooperation and dialogue among media professionals in the region.
